The first dedicated craft beer shop in Brighton is due to open in East Street before Easter.
The Bison Beer Crafthouse has been set up by Nick Vardy and Jack Cregan who plan to offer “an eclectic range of beers with over 300 different varieties sourced from around the world”.
They said that the shop had been furnished with reclaimed and recycled materials sourced from the local area.
And that it would be a relaxed environment where customers would have the chance to find their favourite beers, new beers and brew their own beers.
They also said that the Bison Beer Crafthouse would be the first shop to bring draught “growlers” to Brighton.
Growlers are more common in America and contain about three and a half pints of beer. They use a counter-pressure filling system to keep beer fresh for up to six weeks without any loss of carbonation.
Customers will also be able to try before they buy and take away fresh beer in the containers.
The founding duo said that there would be “meet the brewer” evenings and a brew-school collaboration.
The shop is scheduled to open on Friday 27 March, just over a month after The Urchin, a pub specialising in craft beer, opened in Belfast Street, Hove.
