A record number of partners and schools are due to take part in the the third SoundCity at the Brighotn Dome Corn Exchange next Saturday.
More than 200 young musicians are set to perform in the music education hub’s annual showcase at 7pm on Saturday 14 March.
Performers include musicians nominated by local secondary schools as well as community organisations such as AudioActive, Carousel, Unified Rhythm, Brighton Dome’s SPECTRUM and lead partner Brighton & Hove City Council’s Brighton & Hove Music & Arts Service.
SoundCity 3 will also launch a week of celebrating music from the youth of Brighton and Hove. More information can be foundwww.soundcitybh.org
Cllr Phélim Mac Cafferty, Chair of the Brighton & Hove Music Trust, said: “In only two years, Soundcity has become the key event in the year when our young people’s most innovative musical talents are profiled.
“Last year we had our city’s young musicians play euphonium, string arrangements, a batteria of bins and ripping-rock, and this year promises to be just as exciting. I am really looking forward to SoundCity3.”
