A Brighton man who shouted abuse at police officers when they tried to breathalyse him has been banned and fined by magistrates.
Maciej Sydor, 34, was arrested at 10.30pm on 12 December in Old Steine, Brighton, after officers stopped his car because they had seen him speeding.
When he was taken into custody he became abusive towards the officers and refused to allow them to breathalyse him.
Sydor, of St Georges Road, Brighton, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen for analysis and failing to answer bail when he appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on 9 February.
He was banned from driving for 16 months and ordered to pay a £500 fine, £85 costs and a £50 victim surcharge.
