Two striking copper cupolas have been restored to their rightful place after the transformation of the old Amex currency building into a branch of Metrobank.
The green domes were taken off in August last year for safekeeping while the building at the top of North Street was gutted to accommodate the new high street bank.

They have now been put back onto the roof in time for the bank’s grand opening on Friday, 20 February, with celebrations planned for that day and the next including stilt walkers, face painting, performing dogs and live music.
Councillor Jason Kitcat, Leader Brighton & Hove City Council commented on the launch of Metro Bank Brighton: “I am delighted to welcome Metro Bank, a brand new bank, to this high profile location in Brighton. This opening has been highly anticipated by the local community. I very much welcome the new services and jobs Metro Bank will be bringing to Brighton.”
