A rapist has been jailed for six years for attacking a woman at his Brighton flat. He was sentenced to a further three years for drug dealing, making nine years in total.
Arnand Rruci, 28, of Old Shoreham Road, Brighton, raped a 20-year-old Brighton woman after meeting her at a club.
Rruci took his victim home from Lola Lo, in East Street, to his flat in June last year. She managed to leave the next morning and raise the alarm.
Officers from Sussex Police arrested him ten days later, having traced him using CCTV and with help from Lola Lo.
And last month he was found guilty of two counts of rape by a jury at Lewes Crown Court.
Rruci, a car valeter, admitted three counts of dealing drugs and having cocaine and cannabis.
He was sentenced yesterday (Thursday 22 January).
Detective Inspector Steve Warner said: “Rruci took advantage of an extremely vulnerable woman and we worked tirelessly to identify him and bring him to justice.
“He has now been sentenced to nine years behind bars and will be deported back to Albania when he is released.
“This type of offence is taken extremely seriously and we will always work with the victim to investigate what has happened and bring those responsible to the courts.
“We are pleased Rruci has been given this lengthy sentence and will be permanently removed from our city.”
