Albion led at half time.
The first few minutes of the second half produced a bizarre incident. Referee Darren Bond appeared to award Wolves a penalty but after consulting with one of his assistants the referee booked Nouha Dicko for simulation. Dicko had been involved in a challenge with Albion keeper David Stockdale, who in turn escaped a likely sending off.
However, ten minutes later, Bond did send off Albion’s Bruno Saltor for a wild challenge on Wolves midfielder Kevin McDonald.
Albion almost held on but Wolves captain Danny Batth fired the home side level on 88 minutes.
Albion next take on Reading at the Amex on Boxing Day, but are now four points from safety in the Championship relegation zone.
