Shoppers had a lucky escape yesterday evening after glass fell from a fourth floor window into Western Road, Brighton.
Officers from Sussex Police cordoned off the section of pavement outside Sainsbury’s and the CEX Entertainment Exchange just after 4pm.
Andre Neophytou, 28, was working in CEX when the glass fell.
He and his colleagues called the police and helped to warn passing pedestrians.
He said: “You could hear the glass falling.
“It actually hit our sign.”
Firemen from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service gained access to the flat and managed to board up the two panes of broken window.
