The Albion are rumoured to be close to signing Aston Villa striker Darren Bent.
The story has been reported in various media outlets including a reliable source on popular fans forum Northstandchat.
London-born Bent has played more than a dozen times for England, scoring four goals.
He would be the costliest player ever to appear for the Seagulls. In 2011 Villa paid Sunderland £24 million for his services.
Albion are said to want to complete the initial one-month loan by Thursday (27 November) allowing Bent to play against another of his old clubs, Fulham, on Saturday (29 November) at the Amex.
