A 35-year-old Brighton man has been charged with a series of attempted robberies in the area.
Sussex Police said that the attempted hold-ups took place on (Friday October 24).
Shane Elmer, of Oriental Place, Brighton, has been charged for four attempted robberies at Gunn’s Pharmacy in Western Road, the Salvation Army in Sackville Road, Hove, Belcher’s Cafe in Montpelier Road, Brighton, and at the Salon in Goldstone Villas, Hove.
He has also been charged with robbing the pharmacy of drugs, having an offensive weapon – a pair of scissors – and trying to steal a poppy appeal box from the hairdressers in Hove.
He is accused of stealing another charity box from the Salvation Army.
He appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Monday 27 October and has been remanded in custody to appear at a crown court.
