An award-winning Portslade real ale pub is for sale for £425,000.
The Stanley Arms, in Wolseley Road, Portslade, has been put on the market by Steve and Barbara Bennett.
The landlord Mr Bennett said: “Having spent 12 years at the Stanley, and in the process, winning the Brighton and South Downs Camra Pub of the Year eight times, we are now looking to semi-retire and concentrate on our other smaller businesses.
“Myself and my wife are both in our sixties and feel we need to slow down before the grim reaper calls early.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for a new operator to build on our success and take the Stanley to the next level.”
The freehold free house is being marketed for sale by the chartered surveyors Fleurets, in Boundary Road, Hove.
Kate Dowd, from Fleurets, said: “This is an award-winning established and respected real ale house.
“However, there is scope for any new operator to develop the business and increase the trade by increasing the current opening hours and providing a basic food offer.”
