A cyclist was hit by a car in Portslade last week, just at the spot where parents are campaigning to get a crossing put in.
Emergency services were called to North Street on Tuesday at 11.22am when the bicycle and the car collided.
The cyclist was treated for minor injuries.
Resident Rae Powers, who has two children at nearby St Peter’s Infant School, said the road was a dangerous one, and said parents were campaigning for a crossing there.
She said: “This is the exact location we have been campaigning for increased road safety measures. Placing a crossing further north on Church Road would not meet the need at this junction.
“This is the location that St Peter’s students use every day. This could have been a child.”
Parents have been told a crossing in Church Road is on the agenda for the 7 October Brighton and Hove City Council transport committee meeting.
Anyone who saw last week’s accident is asked to contact police on 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting serial 477 of 23/9.
