A Brighton voluntary group is matchmaking those that have waste food with those that can use it.
The Food Waste Collective aims to bridge the gap between food producers with a surplus and charities that can give it away.
The group is holding a food redistribution day this Friday (28 February) called Good Food for Good Causes.
The event will be held between 11am and 3.30pm at the former Brighton Municipal Market in Circus Street.
On the day there will be surplus dry goods to share with local food projects, as well as music, refreshments and a chance to hear more about the project.
The group is asking food businesses, such as cafes, bakeries, greengrocers, and other food producers and retailers, to get in touch if they have a surplus they can donate.
Charities and community projects supporting vulnerable and needy communities in Brighton and Hove are asked to contact them about receiving donations.
The project also needs volunteers to help with repacking and delivering donations locally.
Any member of the public wishing to support the project can put tins, jars and dried foods in the Freegle box at The Wood Store in Circus Street between now and Friday.
