A man has been charged with manslaughter following the death of Hove greengrocer following a road rage attack.
Tony Magdi, of Portland Road, died in hospital on November 28 after spending weeks in a coma following the attack three weeks before.
Paul Lambeth, 35, of Stafford Road, Brighton, had already appeared in court charged with attacking Mr Magdi, causing him grievous bodily harm. Today, he was charged with manslaughter.
Mr Magdi, 52, was assaulted across the road from his shop and home by the junction with Westbourne Gardens after opening his car door, causing three cyclists to take avoiding action.
He sustained a serious head injury and was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton. He was later transferred to Hurstwood Park Hospital, Haywards Heath, where he died.
Lambeth will appear before Brighton Magistrates on Friday (December 10), where he will also face a charge of possession of cannabis.
