Firefighters spent almost four hours dealing with swathes of straw
bales set alight in a Peacehaven field.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service was called at 3.33pm on Monday
afternoon. Newhaven and Seaford went to the scene off Cissbury Avenue
in Peacehaven.
They confirmed 200 metres of straw bales were alight.
The service used two specialist four-by-four vehicles to help tackle
the fire. Local farm machinery and beaters were also used.
Firefighters spent time damping down and turning over to ensure the
fire was out, leaving the scene around 7.15pm.
