As much as 3cm of rain could fall over Brighton and Hove today according to the Met Office.
A severe weather warning is in place, which predicts at least 1.5cm of rain across much of England and Wales today, rising to 3cm in places.
The Chief Forecaster says the day’s weather will be “unpleasant”, adding: “There will be a lot of surface water and spray on roads, and winds will be locally strong and gusty.”
The day’s dig at the Whitehawk Camp has been cancelled.
