A Plumpton College lecturer is hoping to make his classic car show an annual fixture after the hundreds turned up to the first one.
Kevin Avins organised the pilot show last year in the grounds of the college in Ditchling Road, Plumpton to raise money for the its charitable foundation.
To his surprise, 210 cars turned up, more than he expected. Now, he and some of his students are busy planning the next show on Sunday, August 24, and hope to make it a regular fixture.
He said: “I’ve always been interested and I have restored a few classic over the past few years. I currently own a 1957 Ford 100e and a 1963 highly modified MK1 Mini.
“I originally wanted to get a small gathering together and it just took off so I thought I’d run with it and try to make is as big as possible and even offer camping the evening before the show. ”
The show starts at 8am, and costs £5 per car entry. Food and refreshments are available. Club stands and stalls for selling parts can also be arranged.
Have you fixed a date for 2015? We would like to put on a display please/as last year.
