Brighton Housing Trust chief executive Andy Winter has been shortlisted for the annual Housing Heroes Awards.
Mr Winter is one of six people remaining from more than 200 entries for the award of Inspirational Leader of the Year.
He was shortlisted for the 2014 awards partly as a result of the 36 shipping containers which BHT converted into homes in New England Road, Brighton.
The awards are organised by the Chartered Institute of Housing and Inside Housing magazine. The founding editor of the magazine was Bill Randall, the Green councillor and former leader of Brighton and Hove City Council.
The award winners will be announced at a ceremony in Manchester on Monday 23 June hosted by the Paralympic athlete Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson.
Mr Winter, who also writes a regular blog, said: “In Brighton Housing Trust we are fortunate to have excellent leaders at every level of the organisation.
“A successful organisation depends on excellence by many dedicated and skilled staff.
“I am lucky to lead such an organisation and my nomination is nothing more than a recognition of the leadership of many others and excellence within BHT.”
The public are being asked to vote for the most inspirational leader by Friday 9 May.
