A pensioner who went missing during a shopping trip to Brighton was found safe and well this morning.
Gordon Clark, 78, a dementia sufferer from Hampden Park, Eastbourne, was spotted walking in London Road, Brighton, by a taxi driver at 4am today.
He was picked up by officers from Sussex Police and reunited with his family at John Street police station in Brighton shortly afterwards.
He had come to Brighton with his wife Anne yesterday and went missing from the Churchill Square shopping centre during the afternoon.
Officers were concerned for his welfare and said that they did not believe that he would have been able to make the journey home without assistance.
