Barnsley 0 Brighton & Hove Albion 0
The Albion played out a bore draw with lowly Barnsley and lost further ground in the play-off race this afternoon (Saturday 5 April)
The only bright spot was the return of record signing Craig Mackail-Smith after a year out injured.
Albion came closest to scoring with efforts from Kazenga LuaLua – and Tomasz Kuszczak had to be alert from a Dale Jennings effort for the Tykes.
Solly March, making a rare start for Albion, showed some nice touches.
In the closing stages Barnsley’s Kelvin Etuhu cleared Leo Ulloa’s effort of the goal line. Later the Tykes defender was sent off.
Mackail-Smith replaced Jesse Lingard on 78 minutes, his first appearance since February last year.
The Seagulls next face league leaders Leicester City on Tuesday (8 April) at the King Power Stadium.
