Police have warned Brighton and Hove’s gay community to be on their guard against a thief who befriends men in the pub, and then steals from their homes.
The man is believed to have struck twice last month, each time meeting a man in the pub, drinking with them and then going back to their homes.
His victims have then woken up the next morning to find him gone – and large quantities of their property stolen.
On Octoberr 23, the man stole a computer, TV, DVD player, two laptops, four coats, an iPod and its charger from Albany Villas in Hove
Then on October 31, the thief took a laptop, holdall, mobile phone, watch, TV, stereo and bank cards from Wilbury Road, Hove. The cards were later used to withdraw cash from the victim’s account.
The man is described as 5ft 10in, olive skinned and speaks with a thick Spanish accent. He is in his late 20s, of stocky build, with short, dark, brown hair and clean shaven.
