A teenage pedestrian suffered serious head injuries on Brighton seafront early yesterday (Sunday 1 September).
The 19-year-old woman and an 18-year-old woman were knocked over by a Citroen C3 as they were crossing Marine Parade in Kemp Town.
The 19-year-old was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in nearby Eastern Road with serious head injuries.
She was transferred to Hurstwood Park Neurosciences Centre in Haywards Heath while the 18-year-old remains at the Royal Sussex in Kemp Town with less serious injuries.
The driver of the Citroen, a 19-year-old local woman, and her passengers were uninjured and treated at the scene for shock.
The accident happened on the A259 Marine Parade near Sussex Square just after midnight yesterday.
Both of the injured women are from Tonbridge in Kent.
Sergeant Neil Walker said: “We are keen to speak with anyone who witnessed this collision, which happened next to a silver Ford limousine.”
