Police are concerned for the welfare of an 85-year-old man who went missing in Telscombe Cliffs this morning (Sunday 16 June).
Olav Schjerve, who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease, left the family house sometime in the night or early morning.
Officers are currently searching the area and urge anyone who recognises him to contact Sussex Police on 101.
He was described as slim, about 5ft 6in tall and grey haired. He was wearing glasses, a black shirt, green cardigan and trousers.
Inspector Kevin Swinney said: “We are particularly concerned because of his vulnerability.
“We are uncertain as to how long he has been missing and are committing a range of resources in our search for him.
“Anyone who recognises him or may know his whereabouts is asked to contact police on 101.”
