A 17-year-old Brighton motorcyclist has been banned from driving for six months after being stopped in Hollingdean.
The boy was arrested for driving offences and going equipped to steal.
He was given a driving ban at Brighton Youth Court yesterday and ordered to pay £85 costs.
He was given a conditional discharge for going equipped to steal on the day in question, Saturday 24 July.
Sussex Police said that its officers were taking action to deal with moped and motorcycle nuisance in the Hollingdean area.
Sergeant Chris Lane, of the Hollingdean and Preston Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “The misuse of motorcycles on public roads and the green spaces around Hollingdean concerns local residents and we are taking a zero tolerance approach.
“Anyone using vehicles in this way should expect to have their vehicle seized by police if caught, in addition to being prosecuted for the offences.”
