A man was attacked outside a Brighton cinema in the small hours of this morning.
The 26-year-old was pushed to the ground and hit in the face with a bottle after two men demanded his mobile phone.
He was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton and treated for cuts and bruises to his face.
The attackers struck outside the Odeon cinema in West Street at about 2.30am before running off towards Middle Street.
A short while afterwards officers from Sussex Police arrested two men in North Street.
This afternoon the two suspects – a 22-year-old man and a 19-year-old man, both from Croydon – were in police custody being questioned about the attack.
Detective Sergeant Stephen French said: “This was an unprovoked attack on a young man which has left him very shaken.
“We are pleased that, with the help of our CCTV operators, officers were able to make a quick arrest.”
