A man has been charged with murdering his wife in Brighton and is due before magistrates today (Wednesday 20 February).
Ty Medland, 25, of Cavell Avenue, Peacehaven, was charged after Samantha Medland, 24, was stabbed to death on Sunday (17 February).
Mrs Medland, known as Sam to her family and friends, was attacked outside the offices of call centre company Domestic and General, in Queen Square, Brighton, where she worked.
Sussex Police said that officers were called to the scene at about 8.45pm on Sunday where they found Mrs Medland with serious injuries.
She was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton but died shortly afterwards.
Post-mortem tests found that she died as a result of multiple stab wounds.
Her mother Amelia Shah said: “My daughter Sam was always a ray of sunshine to those she met.
“Her untimely death has touched so many people including the medical staff who tried to save her life.
“Sam leaves behind mum, dad, her sisters Teresa and Lisa Jo Saphirre and her brother Ali and so many friends.
“She also leaves her niece Rosalie-Jayne and nephew Tyler-Jay.
“She will be greatly missed by us all.”
Detective Chief Inspector Mark Preston, of the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team, said: “I would like to thank the members of public who have assisted us in our investigation so far.
“Our thoughts are with the family of Sam as they try to come to terms with her death.”
