A new pharmacy is to open in Whitehawk three years after the old Lloyds pharmacy closed.
Residents and councillors have been campaigning for a replacement for the Lloyds pharmacy in Arundel Road.
They even petitioned the Brighton and Hove Primary Care Trust (PCT) – now part of NHS Sussex.
The new chemist, part of the Sussex family pharmacy business, Kamsons, will open on Monday (4 February).
It will be based in Wilson Avenue, Brighton, opposite the bus depot in the old Thresher off licence.
The pharmacy will be open from 9am to 6.15pm from Monday to Friday and will also open on Saturdays.
Kamsons said: “Kamsons already has ten pharmacies in and around Brighton.” The new branch will be the 45th.
Kamsons director and pharmacist, Bharat Chotai said: “We are proud that from starting from one pharmacy in 1979 we have grown Kamsons Pharmacy and are opening in Whitehawk.
“We hope that the residents of Whitehawk and Kemp Town will be impressed with the new pharmacy and the high level of customer service that we will offer.”
