Hit and run driver Christopher Chan has jailed for five years eight months after knocking over a carer on Brighton seafront.
Chan, 31, who is jobless and homeless, was also banned from driving for ten years after he hit 28-year-old Michelle Greest, from Hove, and drove without stopping.
He admitted 13 other offences including the aggravated theft of two cars – one in Coldean and one in Hove – as well as two counts of burglary in Portslade and driving while disqualified.
Chan was driving a stolen Volkswagen Passat when he ran over Miss Greest on the A259 King’s Road near the junction with West Street at 4.45am on Sunday 15 July.
She had been on a night out with friends and was left with head injuries, including blood clots on the brain, and several broken bones in her back, hips and legs.
She still hasn’t fully recovered from the injuries she received.
Chan was jailed by Judge David Rennie at Lewes Crown Court.
