A man was found with serious injuries in a Brighton park early yesterday (Wednesday 8 August).
Detectives believe that the unconscious man was beaten up at the skate park at The Level where he was found at about 5.30am.
He was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital with injuries to his head, face and neck and remains in a serious but stable condition.
Detective Sergeant Helen Paine, from Brighton and Hove CID, said: “We are very grateful to the member of the Street Services Team who spotted the injured man at around 5.35am and called for an ambulance.
“The victim remains in hospital in a serious condition with head, face and neck injuries and we are in the early stages of piecing together what exactly happened to him in the lead up to the attack.
“Officers will be continuing with house-to-house inquiries and viewing CCTV from the area and speaking to members of the local street community who may have witnessed the assault.”
