A woman was seriously injured when she was hit by a car in the centre of Brighton late last night (Wednesday 23 May).
The 21-year-old woman suffered serious injuries to her head and body and was taken to Hurstwood Park Neurosciences Centre in Haywards Heath.
The woman, who comes from South Croydon, was on foot in King’s Road, on Brighton seafront, near the junction with West Street when the accident happened.
She was hit by a silver Audi A3 saloon car which was heading west – towards Hove – just before 11pm yesterday.
The car was being driven by a 45-year-old man from Brighton who was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital where he was treated for shock.
Sussex Police urged anyone who saw the accident to call 101.
