A man was attacked and robbed in Brighton as he walked to work early yesterday (Wednesday 16 May).
Sussex Police said that the victim, in his mid-twenties, was robbed while walking in Church Street near to the junction with St Nicholas Road at about 6.40am.
His attacker stopped him and asked for the time before punching him to the floor and trying to steal his phone.
The thief grabbed and ran off with his bag, which he dropped a short distance away.
He was described as white with tanned skin, aged 19 to 22 years old, of slim build and with short hair shaved at the sides and longer on top.
He was wearing a black hooded top and a red shirt.
Anyone who saw the incident or who may have seen the suspect in the area is asked to call Sussex Police on 101.
