Sussex Police have arrested two Brighton men after six cars were broken into overnight.
It is believed that the pair, aged 25 and 19, come from the Hollingdean area.
Among the items stolen overnight were car stereos, baby seats and a disabled badge.
The thieves smashed windows or slashed soft-top roofs to break into cars in Edburton Avenue, Southdown Avenue, Dover Road and Middle Road in the Fiveways and Preston in Brighton.
The six thefts since yesterday evening are among more than 20 similar incidents in the area over the past fortnight.
Four baby seats have been stolen during this time, which police say is a relatively new trend in Brighton.
The force said: “The seats are often expensive and sell at a good price via internet auction sites and other outlets.”
It is asking potential witnesses to call Sgt Chris Lane, of the Hollingdean and Preston Neighbourhood Policing Team, on 0845 6070999. They can also call Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555111.
