Four men have been charged with conspiracy to supply class A drugs following a four month police operation in Brighton.
Gary Corness, 24, of St Cuthman’s Close, Whitehawk; Gary McCarten, 20, of Ravenswood Drive, Woodingdean; Kirk Blake, 20, and Kevin Tynan, 31, both of Ermine Crescent, Liverpool, were each charged with conspiracy to supply heroin and crack cocaine at around 3.30pm today.
Detective Sergeant Julian Deans said: “The arrest of these men follows a four month investigation by the Brighton divisional intelligence unit for Operation Reduction, aimed at tackling drug dealers and users in the city.
“Drug dealing has far reaching implications in the community and has links to various crimes and anti-social behaviour, causing misery for local residents.
“We are determined to respond to the concerns of the local community and will continue to target the supply of drugs and bring those responsible before the courts.”
Operation Reduction is a joint initiative with the city’s Drug and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT) and Crime Reduction Initiatives (CRI) to tackle the city’s drug dealers and users.
The men have been remanded in custody and will appear at Brighton Magistrates’ court tomorrow morning.
