Brighton Festival Radio has launched again for a festival-long broadcast, and has managed to persuade a much-loved radio duo to return to the air.
BBC Radio 6 Music’s original breakfast team Phill Jupitus and Phil Wilding will take to the airwaves for a one-off live programme – the first time the pair have hosted a live show together since leaving 6 Music.
Phil told RadioToday.co.uk: “They’ve said we can play and do what we want, they’ll regret that.”
The broadcast will take place on Wednesday, May 12 from 3pm till 6pm on FM and online – and an hour later, Phill Jupitus takes the stage at the Gilded Balloon as part of Steven Frost’s Impro Allstars.
Since leaving 6 Music days , they have recorded a series of free podcasts called Phill And Phil’s Perfect Ten, available on iTunes.
Brighton Festival Radio will broadcast until Sunday, May 23, featuring listings, daily hot picks and reviews and competitions to win tickets and the chance to get up close and personal with the stars.
There will also be featured performances, live readings, artist performances and band sessions.
