An arsonist set light to a campervan late on Friday night (28 March), Sussex Police said.
The force said: “Police are appealing for witnesses to a deliberate fire in Rottingdean.
“Emergency services were called to Greenways at around 10.45pm on Friday (28 March) following reports of a campervan on fire.
“The fire was extinguished by crews and found to have caused extensive damage to the vehicle.
“Fortunately, no one was inside and no injuries were reported.
“Initial inquiries determined the cause of the fire was deliberate and an investigation was launched by police.
“Investigating officers would now like to speak to anyone who saw what happened or who may have witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the area around that time.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact police online or by calling 101, quoting serial 1523 of 28/03.
“Alternatively, information can be passed to police anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
