At least nine police cars and two ambulance crews responded to concerns for a woman’s welfare in Brighton this afternoon (Thursday 20 February).
Few clear details were available about the incident in Mayflower Square, in New England Street, Brighton.

The flats there are close to New England House and Sainsbury’s supermarket, in New England Street, the London Road car park, in Providence Place, and St Bartholomew’s Church, in Ann Street.
Sussex Police said: “We have responded to a concern for a woman’s welfare in Mayflower Square, New England Street, Brighton, which was reported shortly after 2.30pm on Thursday 20 February.
“An increased police presence is expected in the area.
“We would like to thank the public for their patience while we dealt with this incident.”

Two ambulance crews being deployed can tell you quite a lot about what the incident is. It is standard procedure to send two for cardiac arrest, for example.
Isn’t this part of the half way house that is notoriously filled with people just released from prison with severe addictions ?? . Like releasing them and leaving them with little/ no support is going to help !
