A BBC children’s television host has admitted having extreme animal pornography on his phone and computer.
CBBC presenter Stephen Kish, 32, of Church Road, Hove, pleaded guilty to one charge of having what has been described as dog porn.
Kish, who hosted a children’s show called Officially Amazing, appeared before a judge at Chichester Crown Court today (Monday 23 August).
He had previously denied the offence but changed his plea to guilty at the last minute before he was due to face a trial by jury.
Kish, who ran a dog boarding business in Brighton called Tails of Love, has been banned from the company of dogs while he awaits his sentence.
The six obscene images were found in Fallowfield Crescent, in Hangleton, in September 2019, the court was told. Three were on his phone and three were on his computer.
According to the charge, they “portrayed, in an explicit and realistic way, a person performing an act of intercourse with a live unknown animal, which were grossly offensive, disgusting or otherwise of an obscene character, and a reasonable person looking at the image would think that any such person or animal was real”.
Broadcasting bosses removed programmes featuring Kish, also known as Sizzlin’ Steve, from BBC platforms when they became aware of the charge.
Today, the judge, Mr Recorder Stuart Trimmer, remanded Kish on bail until October when he is due to be sentenced.
