UPDATE The witness being sought by police has come forward.
Police investigating a number of reports of cat deaths and injuries in Brighton have released an image of a man they want to trace who may be able to assist in the investigation as a witness.
The man was walking along in Crown Gardens on Friday 31 May at about 7.50pm and may have seen the suspect.
Detective Sergeant Duncan Lloyd said: “This man may have witnessed one of the incidents and I want to reiterate he is not a suspect. We would like to hear from him or from anyone who recognises him or has any information about him.”
A 52-year-old man arrested in connection with the cat deaths has been re-arrested, questioned and bailed until 28 November for further enquiries to take place.
If you can help with the investigation, please report online or ring 101 quoting Operation Diverge.
Please update/remove this “story” – James has given his statement to the police now, so this has now been sorted. Thanks.
