A Brighton theatre company is looking for children to play Munchkins in its production of the Wizard of Oz this Christman.
JW Productions has been putting on pantos for six years now, and is returning to the Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts with its version of the classic children’s story.
It is now auditioning for dancers aged eight to 14, who will be cast as a chorus line of Munchkins, farm hands and Emerald City residents.
Three groups of dancers will be cast to share the roles across the run of 30 performances. Auditionees should be no more than 5ft 2in tall, with tap experience and “ready to have lots of fun”.
Director James Weisz said: “We love giving children an opportunity to get involved in our Christmas shows. It’s always great fun – they make lots of friends, learn new skills and perform in an amazing theatre.
“They really add an energy and it’s lovely to be a real community Christmas show.”
To register your child please email casting@nataliessexton.co.uk with any performing experience, height, and photograph.
The Wizard of Oz opens December 13. Tickets are from £10 with Early-bird booking now available at www.attenboroughcentre.com
