The Albion will host Aston Villa at the Amex in the League Cup third round in the week commencing Monday 23 September.
It will be the first time that the two clubs have met in the 59-year history of the competition.
The Seagulls will face Newcastle at St James’ Park on Saturday 21 September, with Villa playing Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium the next day.
So the League Cup fixture is likely to take place on Wednesday 25 September.
The tie follows this week’s second round 2-1 win at Bristol Rovers.
