The Brighton Acoustic Club hosts Lizzy Hardingham tonight (Monday 3 June).
She was a finalist in the New Roots competition last year.
Brighton Acoustic said: “Lizzy is a young folk musician, playing a mixture of traditional and contemporary material, all of her own design.
“Lizzy has won the Herts, Watford and Milkmaid Folk Song Competitions, bringing significance to stories old and new.
“Her voice, guitar playing and songwriting combined, she had been described as ‘a rising star on the folk scene, not to be missed’.
“As always, floor singers are welcome.”
The venue is the Lord Nelson pub in Trafalgar Street, Brighton, with the session is scheduled for 8pm to 11pm.
Admission is free, with the monthly session sponsored by Harvey’s Brewery and Hobgoblin Music.
