Dead dog in a suitcase (and other love songs)
Kneehigh with Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse
Dead dog in a suitcase (and other love songs) was first created in 2015 in Liverpool, and Kneehigh are bringing back their re-imagining of John Gay’s infamous Beggar’s Opera to the Brighton Festival. Described as a “deranged apocalyptic musical dealing with political corruption and widespread injustice against a backdrop of cracked morality and the fevered need to survive” the shows themes seem as totally relevant to the world today as they were when the work was created. Kneehigh have an extraordinary cast of actor musicians, this promises to be a weird and wonderful performance
