A road was closed after a balcony “came adrift” last night.
Just at a road closure in Denmark Terrace following a request from @EastSussexFRS to support them whilst they make the side of a building safe following reports of a balcony being adrift. We'll update when reopened. #Hove #PCSO37343 #BootsontheGround #Teamwork pic.twitter.com/sJEmzKiBk6

Emergency services were called to the house in Denmark Terrace shortly after 9pm.
Police closed the road while the fire service carefully removed the balcony and lowered it to the floor.
A spokeswoman for East Sussex Fire and Rescue said: “We were called at 9.08pm to attend a residential building on Denmark Terrace, Brighton following reports of a dangerous structure (loose balcony).
“Brighton firefighters attended and using an aerial ladder platform, removed the balcony and lowered it to the ground floor.
“Crews left the scene at 10.52pm.”
Fortunately, nobody was injured.
