Six men from Brighton and Hove have been told they will stay behind bars as they wait to go on trial charged with drug dealing.
Three other men from Southampton are also in prison on remand as they await trial.
They were among 15 people to be arrested in a series of drug raids carried out by officers from Sussex Police and colleagues from Hampshire.
Detectives seized 1.3kg of cocaine and 5.3kg of cannabis as well as cash totalling more than £23,000 at a property in Brunswick Square, in Hove.
Sussex Police said this afternoon (Thursday 21 March): “Police have made 15 arrests and seized thousands of pounds worth of cocaine and cannabis after carrying out a series of raids in Brighton and Hove.
“Officers from the Brighton and Hove Community Investigation Team (CIT) and prevention officers carried out drugs warrants over three days of action in the city at Lower Rock Gardens and Russell Square, Brighton, Brunswick Square, Hove, and in The Dell, Southampton.
“They seized 1.3kg of cocaine and 5.3kg of cannabis and more than £23,000 cash at the Brunswick Square address as well as drugs and cash at other addresses.
“Nine men have been charged with drug offences.
“Euxhenio Hoxha, 20, and Florjan Kadiu, 25, both of Lower Rock Gardens, Brighton, Edricim Xepha, 25, and Ervis Jahja, 28, both of The Dell, Southampton, all face charges of conspiracy to supply cocaine and money laundering.
“Hoxha and Kadiu are also charged with possession with intent to supply cocaine.
“Esmeraldo Tola, 25, also of The Dell, Southampton, was charged with conspiracy to supply cocaine.
“They all appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Saturday (16 March) and were remanded to appear at crown court on (Tuesday) 16 April.
“Flogert Topalli, 25, and Alkeo Kaca, 30, both of Russell Square, Brighton, and Florin Suli, 19, and Gazmar Hailili, 29, both of Brunswick Square, Hove, were charged with conspiracy to supply cocaine and money laundering and possession with intent to supply cocaine.
“Suli and Hailili were also charged with possession with Intent to supply cannabis.
“They all appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (20 March) and were remanded in custody to appear at crown court on (Wednesday) 17 April.
“Four others arrested, two men and two women, on conspiracy to supply cocaine have been released under investigation and two arrested on Thursday (21 March) remain in custody.”
Detective Inspector Dee Wells said: “We have targeted an organised crime group who we believe are involved in the supply of class A drugs over three days of action.
“This has been a successful operation which has resulted in a number of arrests and charges.”
