Armed police swooped on Whitehawk and arrested a man wanted for firearms offence and breaching a harassment order.
One resident filmed the dramatic incident, which involved several officers both uniformed and plainclothed, and posted it on Facebook. Warning – the footage contains swearing.
Daniel Hoy, 29, later appeared at Brighton Magistrates Court charged with two counts of breaching a harassment order and possession of firearms and ammunition.
A police spokesman said: “A man wanted by police was seen by officers in Whitehawk Way, Brighton on Thursday (February 28) around 4.30pm. Officers stopped and arrested him.
“Daniel Hoy, 29, of no fixed address (stays at various places across Brighton and Hove) has been charged with two counts of breaches of a harassment order and possession of a firearms and ammunition.”
