A woman has appeared in court charged with a string of burglaries and thefts from elderly victims – including theft from a patient at the Royal Sussex County Hospital.
Marie Keane, 50, of no fixed address, is also accused of breaking into sheltered housing in Hove on two occasions, as well as burgling a flat in Brighton.
She appeared at Brighton Magistrates Court on Friday charged with four offences:
- committing a burglary at a flat in Park Street, Brighton on 17 November,
- theft from an elderly patient at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton on 2 December
- committing a burglary and fraud on 3 December at a sheltered housing complex in Wilbury Road, Hove
- burglary and going equipped for burglary on 14 January at the same sheltered housing complex in Wilbury Road, Hove.
Keane has been remanded in custody to appear at Lewes Crown Court on 15 February.
