A Brighton man has been charged after armed robbers stole cash from a security van in Hove before fleeing on scooters.
Marli Casaletto, 25, of Uplands Road, Hollingdean, appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Saturday (24 November).
He was charged with the robbery outside the Brighton and Hove Buses depot in Conway Street, Hove, last week.
He was also charged with having a bladed article and two counts of receiving stolen goods.
The stolen goods were alleged to be two vehicles.
Casaletto was remanded in custody to appear at Lewes Crown Court on Friday 21 December.
Sussex Police said: “Police are still hunting for three people connected to the robbery in Conway Street at 1.20pm on Monday 19 November.
“Four robbers on the back of two scooters stole two boxes of cash from a member of security staff, who was threatened with an axe.
“Any witnesses or anyone who has any information about the incident is asked to contact police online or ring 101 quoting Operation Grate.”
