A teenager arrested for stealing a moped which knocked down a nine-year-old boy the sped off has been rebailed while investigations continue.
Logan Dore was badly injured when he was struck by the moped, which was being ridden by two people, in Whitehawk Road about 12.15pm on Sunday 16 September.
Three days later, Sussex Police offered a £500 reward for information and later that day a 16-year-old boy handed himself in.
He was released on police bail until 17 October, when he was told to return to the police station, and the following week the reward was doubled to £1,000. On Wednesday, he was rebailed for another month.
A Sussex Police spokeswoman said: “A 16-year-old boy from Brighton, arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, has been rebailed until 17 November, pending further enquiries.”
