It’s all going to be kicking off from 7:30pm on Saturday 6th October at the Hope & Ruin, Queens Road, Brighton as ‘This Feeling’ are hosting another fab evening of up-and-coming young rock bands.
We attended the 2017 Brighton ‘This Feeling’ gig and reviewed it HERE and so we know how great a night this year’s event is going to be.
Let’s meet the bands for this years event………………..
Lacuna Bloome are an unsigned youthful Brighton based indie-pop quartet. Founder members Niall and Sam relocated to Brighton and on their journey they recruited several musicians with the current being Noah and former Varndean school girl Molly Walker. Niall and Sam simply knew that Brighton was the right place to bolster their lo-fi shoegaze ranks. Lacuna Bloome have in my opinion successfully filled the void vacated by the early sounds of The RPMs. Their sound is a pleasant blend of all things Oasis, Stone Roses and The Primitives and a couple of months ago they unleashed the really catchy ‘I AM’. Watch and listen to them whizzing around Stanmer Park HERE.
King Kuda are Ollie Gocher (vocals), Charlie Vasiliou (drums), Chris Burrell (guitar) and Perry Anderson (bass) and they inform us that they met at uni and are purveyors of alternative dreamwave. Although the guys have been crafting their sound for around three years, they have only been on the gigs circuit for a few months. They all rather enjoy listening to an outfit called Leif Erikson. Watch and listen to them HERE.
The Peeps clearly have a sense of humour as they say that they are Ryan Ede (lead vocals/guitar), David from Work (drums/backing vocals), Luke Bennett aka Sh*t Hot Luke (bass) and Jake Marlowe (keys/backing vocals) and that they are basically a weird and wonderful outfit who are 40% weird and primarily 60% bounce. Well you had better get weird and start bouncing as you watch and listen to them HERE.
Dove House are Jack Peacock (vocals/guitar), Kieran Philbin (guitar), Ish Hussein (bass/vocals) and Steve Ray (drums) and they play straight-up indie rock & roll, savage riffs, heart-thumping bass lines and drum beats that will send you into hysteria. Operating from Brighton, Dove House energise their audiences with explosive grooves and harmonies that promise to stick in your head. This band won’t take you out for a Happy Meal; they’ll take you for a three course dinner at the all-night cafe.
Watch and listen to them HERE.
