A man from Hove had a bottle smashed in his face on Brighton seafront.
Sussex Police said: “Police are appealing for witnesses to a confrontation between two men in King’s Road, Brighton, at its junction with East Street, in which one man, aged 21, from Hove, was struck in the face with a bottle.
“His alleged assailant, an 18-year-old man, also from Hove, was pursued on foot by police and arrested near by on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
“He has since been released under investigation.
“The incident happened around 10pm on Monday (23 July).
“The victim refused medical assistance.
“Anyone who saw what happened or who may have other information is asked to contact police online or phone 101, quoting serial 1591 of 23/07.”
