A wanted man from Hove is back behind bars, Sussex Police said today (Monday 11 June).
The force said: “Wanted Hove man Jessie Burbridge has been arrested and charged with several offences.
“Officers detained the 22-year-old in Hangleton on Saturday (9 June) after he ran off from them and was found hiding in a garden.
“Burbridge was wanted for an assault, criminal damage and escaping lawful custody in Worthing and an assault in Brighton.
“He was taken to custody and has now been charged with assaulting a police officer with intent to resist arrest in Worthing on (Friday) 6 April, causing criminal damage to a car in Worthing on (Friday) 6 April, escaping from lawful custody at Worthing on (Friday) 6 April and assaulting a police officer with intent to resist arrest in Hove on (Saturday) 9 June.”
Burbridge, of Barnet Way, Hangleton, was remanded in custody before his appearance at Brighton Magistrates’ Court today.
He was sent for trial, still in custody, at the crown court, where he is due to appear on Monday 9 July.
